Membership to Island FOOLS is open to
any past or present firefighter from any district, department, fire authority, etc. within Whidbey Island, and Skagit and San Juan Counties. If you do not live within this area, but still wish to join the FOOLS,
contact us and we will gladly help you find the chapter that represents your area. If you would like to take part in trainings we offer, you do not need to be a member, but there is a lower cost for members.
Island FOOLS is not a club, and we take our membership very seriously. As well as participating in trainings above and beyond the scope of normal departmental trainings, we do our best to uphold the values in the Fire Service such as honor, courage, tradition, and brotherhood. Your application does not constitue an immediate inclusion, there is an approval process. You will need to read the bylaws from both Island FOOLS and FOOLS International, and also agree with the mission statement we do our best to live by. You will need a current Island FOOLS member to sponsor your membership, and they will also help you understand what the FOOLS are about.
If you wish to become a member of the Island FOOLS, we welcome you as our Brothers and Sisters of the Fire Service.
